This house, more of a farmhouse than a shophouse, is truly wonderful. It’s by no means centrally located (it’s 15-20 minutes from, say Kyoto Station), but it i adjacent to the historic Fushimi Ward Forest, containing the Meiji Mausoleum, Fushimi Castle and, further north, Imari Shrine and and Tofukuji Temple, as well as endless hiking trails. The house is in very good structural shape and has huge, beautiful hardwood beams and columns everywhere, as well as a large atrium and a decent sized garden. This is a unique property for someone who really wants to immerse themselves in the Kyoto heritage, culture and nature. Guesthouse license can be applied for.
