We build extraordinary homes from ancient Japanese farmhouses. On your land. Anywhere in the world.
A Heritage Homes kominka is not a renovation. It is not a replica. It is a genuine Japanese farmhouse — 100, 150, sometimes 200 years old — sourced from a remote mountain village, restored by master carpenters, and rebuilt on your land to the highest modern standard. The result is something that no new building can replicate; a home with history you can feel in every beam and joint.
Your Land. Your Location.
We have completed kominka projects in Niseko, Hakuba, Hakone and beyond. We can rebuild
your farmhouse anywhere in Japan — or overseas. If you have land, we can build on it.
If you need land, we can find it. Our team handles every step: sourcing, permitting,
architecture, construction and fit-out.
We also work with temples and sake breweries — any heritage structure of genuine character.
If you have seen something extraordinary and want to give it a second life, talk to us.
From Mountain Village to Your Doorstep.
What to Expect
Kominka projects typically range from ¥100M to ¥300M depending on the structure, site,
specification and location. We work with a small number of clients each year — this allows
us to give every project the attention it deserves.
Several of our completed projects are subject to NDA at our clients’ request.
References are available to serious enquiries.
We are a fully licensed architectural firm, contractor, real estate agent and registered
project manager — insured and regulated by the Construction Managers Association of Japan
(CMAJ). We are one of the only firms in Japan with the end-to-end track record to take
a project of this kind from first conversation to handover.
