Yamanashi Belfry

A client wanted a stunning centrepiece for his private estate in Hakuba, so Heritage Homes set out on a search for a temple building that could be legally acquired and relocated (religious buildings cannot be bought or sold in Japan). After several months, we found this belfry, which had been dismantled from a temple in Yamanashi. We acquired it and commissioned a 900-year-old Miyadaiku carpentry firm to restore the thousands of pieces of wood that make up the belfry tower. The bell itself, from one of the oldest foundries in the world, weighs over 1,000 kilos.

Joglo Renovations

Joglos are a Javanese style of traditional buildings, recognised by its high central roofs and intricate teak carvings.
These days, they are rarely lived in and can be found deep in the Javanese countryside and villages. We have rescued many of these heritage buildings, shipped them to Bali and then carefully restored them. They are now having a second lease of life as hotel units, private homes, shops and Spas.

The resort consists of 18 luxury bamboo villas, designed by Macarena Chiriboga, adjacent to Green School, Bali. Land acquisition, project management & sales.
